2016, the year of our Lord, the extra ordinary jubilee of mercy, a year where records were set and records broken, dreams fulfilled and others not, it may sound as a cliché but this 31st is like no other.

Personally 2016 has taught me a lot to which i am grateful, some of the lessons I’d rather not learn, but He who is the ancient of days knows more than a muggle like myself.

As i sit in this really hot living room waiting to do what ever i have to before i make my way to the end of year service, I can’t but force myself to to think what has made this year so lessonlike, yet one of the best.

From 1st January’s forced showers, through my first political defeat to scoring two political victories, to knowing people like Afari-Aquah, Abuah, Nyamekye, and many lovely people, my year though have been too sophisticated, for want of a better word, than i wanted,these thoughts follow me into the year which is only 4hrs away.

The journey has been long and tough yet exciting, if i had the chance I would do it all over again
Especially the parts that were most melancholic, strange but yes. As the new year dawns on us,
All my family; Mum, dad, Akua Jewel and all love ones, my sober words to us all is take a deep breath at the sound of the bells and look up.

It is not going to be presented as a different year, what will make it special is the moments we spend together, what we do when together and how much grace we seek from He that has gifted us this moment.

We pray it brings all that we hope for and may the Lord make his ways known to us so we don’t set unnecessary goals
As we pray at the dawn of 2017, may we seek his face only and may he make it shine upon us in ways we have hoped for across the years
