Serena Williams, one of the greatest sports personalities of all time on July 6, 2002 shot to prominence when she won her first Wimbledon.
Even more thrilling, Serena beat her older sister, Venus Williams at the final to clinch victory.
The 2002 Wimbledon was held on grass courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London in England.
It was the 116th edition of the Wimbledon Championships and were held from 24 June to 7 July 2002.
Serena Williams would go ahead to become a record, 23-time Grand Slam champion.
